    Minted 1732 -- last year at the Mexico City Mint -- very rare variety. Great looking early 8-Reales Spanish Colonial Cob, "Vliengenthart Treasure" Shipwreck.  Minted in Mexico City -- 20.29g weight.
    Conserved, attributed and certified "genuine" by NGC.  Very nice quality and early 8-Reales Spanish Colonial Cob" from the Vliengenthart Treasure Shipwreck.  These coins were hand-hammered and not from a coin press (they weren't invented yet).  Therefore each coin is unique, rustic, and as pictured.  Actual coin you will receive.  Nice quality silver cob that circulated throughout the World for over 300 years.  This is the coin called "Pieces of 8."     The Vliegenthart (Flying Hart), a Dutch East India ship was lost on February 3rd, 1735 after striking a sand bank off the coast of Zealand.  All the 461 sailors, soldiers and merchants aboard perished.  The vessel, sailing out of the Netherlands port of Rammekens, carried three chests of gold and silver (mainly Dutch gold ducats and Spanish colonial 8 Reale pieces from the Mexico City mint) for trade in the East Indies.
