    Description

    GENEALOGY
    CEMETERY RECORDS BRANT,
    SAGINAW COUNTY
    ,
    MICHIGAN
by GS 1948 copy of original; 22+ pages, alphabetical, 8 1/2x11", stapled.
Looks like the burial dates range from 1835 to 1937.
Records were compiled from loose papers filed in the
    County
    Clerk
's offices. "This volume contains the only official record of nearly two thousand marriages from
    Mecklenburg
    County
. There was no marriage register prior to 1850, and these loose papers are the only record of hundreds of marriages of vital importance to those interested in
    Virginia
genealogy. Every item of importance has been abstracted, names of the contracting parties, dates, place of residence when given, sureties, &c. The bond itself rarely gives the names of the parents, but frequently notes were addressed to the Clerk by the parents authorizing him to issue the license. Many of these notes are on file with the bonds, and these have also been noted."
Records are abstracts listed alphabetically by surname for each newspaper:
    Example: Aldrigh, George W. b. 1847, d. 1906 (
    Co.
    F. 29
    Mich.
    Inf.).
