Genealogy:
Helen Tripp Richardson, born to Mr. and Mrs. Almon Everett Richardson, December 12, 1907.
Her father was Almon Everett Richardson (1883-1954).  Almon's parents: William Gardner Richardson and Rachel P. Tabbutt
Her mother was Angie May Tripp Richardson (1884-1963).  Angie's parents: Charles Edgar Tripp (1851-1948) and Flora Mandella Howard (1858-1938).
Helen's parents married June 20, 1906 in Woburn City, Middlesex, Massachusetts.
Her sister: Marion Angie Richardson Lombard (1909-1996), married Robert J. Ferriman (1903-1959), had a son Thomas Westlake Ferriman (1942-1983)
Her brother: Charles Almon Richardson (1916-1971), married Esther N. Richardson (1913-2011)
I was able to find the birth recorded by the city of Woburn Massachusetts in 1907
I found no further family records in my research online.  I also found no trace of Helen beyond her birth record and what was contained in this book.  I found the graves of each other person noted above, but not that of Helen, suggesting she passed in childhood sometime after November 4, 1910 (see below).  Most are buried at Wyoming Cemetery, Melrose, Middlesex County, Massachusetts

Helen's mother put a great deal of time into her first child's book.  The story in these pages brings this child to life, and shows the deep love that was showered upon her during those first couple of years.
Both parents gave their signatures.
In the story of her first outing, we learn that Angie wanted her daughter to call her mamma.
She weighed 7 pounds 8 ounces at birth and grew to 26 pounds at her first birthday.  She was 2 feet 5 inches tall at her first birthday.
All the gifts given at her birth, at her first Christmas, and at her first birthday were recorded.  In those pages several more relatives were named.  Indeed more names can be found throughout the book, such as who sent her Valentines.
Her first tooth came at almost 8 months.
Her first smile was at 3 weeks, and the story of her first laugh (a giggle) was told.
She started creeping at 10 months, and took her first step at just under 13 months in the presence of her parents.
She left her long clothes behind in favor of short clothes by her first summer.  There is a tracing of her first shoes that were given to her by her great grandma Thompson in August 1908.
Her first baby word was spoken at about 1-1/2 months old.  Her first word was "Papa", spoken at grandma's house at 7-1/2 months old.
A lock of hair is included in an envelope, clipped at 2 months old.
That's about it for filled out contents.  There are several pages not filled out, and unfortunately we don't have any pictures in the book.  However, placed in the book is a postcard (pictured) from November 4, 1910 indicating she was enrolled on the Cradle Roll at the local First Congregational School.

9" x 11" gray cloth covered hardcover with ornate blue lettering and silver decoration on the cover, tan colored heavy stock paper leaves, 39 unnumbered leaves (78 pages) overall including the blank endpapers and frontispiece
The cover and first pages show heavy signs of moisture as shown, likely due to storage in a basement at some point.  The binding is tight and all the pages are still bound in well.  The leaves are now somewhat brittle with age and very yellowed, with some light soiling, and light chipping, wear and random tears to the edges.
The frontispiece is the one color plate in the book, and it is signed, dated and has a copyright mark in the lower right.  The colors are still very good.  That leaf is starting to split along the binding.
Maud Humphrey (1968-1940) was a commercial illustrator, water colorist, suffragette, and the mother of the actor Humphrey Bogart.  Her work endures and today you can collect it in the form of original works, prints, posters, figurines, Christmas cards, postcards, and more.
This is a popular baby book, still published today for the newest generations.
